OpenSRS was founded in 1999. Our parent company, Tucows was amongst the first group of domain name registrars accredited by ICANN in 1999 when the Network Solutions monopoly was broken. OpenSRS was the first wholesale-focused domain name registar and that wholesale focus remains today.

We currently manage over 10 million domain names on behalf of our more than 10,000 resellers, making us the third largest domain name registar in the world.

Since 1999, OpenSRS has added the ability to sell SSL certificates from the world's more trusted brands, along with hosted email built with the needs of Internet services providers in mind.

OpenSRS is headquartered in Toronto, Canada with offices in the UK to serve Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia Pacific regions. Our platforms and services are housed in top-tier data centres in Canada, the United States and the UK.
